About Me

Welcome! My name is Danielle Knight. I am a New Jersey (USA) high school special education ELA teacher. I teach small group instruction classes. This year I have grade 9 and 11. I have years of experience teaching an inclusion classroom with regular education teaching partners. I am married to Mr. Knight who is an elementary physical education teacher. Together we have two little boys, ages 8 and 5. Everything I do is for my "Knights." You can often see my sons during a Facebook Live event. And, if you're lucky you'll be entertained (they love to be on camera).

I enjoy classic rock music, theatre, comedies, anything from an SNL alum (we love Will Farrell, Adam Sandler, Amy Poehler, Tina Fey...) the summers, and the Jersey Shore.

My undergraduate degree is in Communication Studies from West Chester University, West Chester, PA. There, I was a member of the women's softball team and a member of Alpha Sigma Tau National Sorority. It wasn't until I was 30 years old, that I went back for a masters in education and started teaching.

Fall 2017
Prior to teaching, I worked in online marketing and digital video for companies like Comcast Communications in Philadelphia, PA, and then later at Time Warner Cable in New York City. Once, AOL merged with TWC, I stayed on as an integral part of the transition team. This is when I received a generous severance package, which I used to pay for graduate school.

I've also had the privilege of directing plays and musicals. Before having my sons, I coached girls' softball and girls' tennis. I have training in Positive Behavior Support in Schools, Innovative Designs in Education (IDE), and I facilitate the Teacher Cadets program for our school.
